The Beacons Orchestra

About Us

The Beacons Orchestra is an amateur orchestra based in Brecon.  The orchestra was co founded in 2025 by local amateur musicians Paul Woods, Angie Takac & Laura Kostoris with the aim of providing opportunities for amateur musicians to play together both in an orchestra and in chamber groups and also contributing to the musical life of the local community by presenting concerts and outreach events.    We welcome players of all ages and standards and do not hold auditions.

Following two successful 'come & play' events to gauge the level of interest, we started regular fortnightly rehearsals on September 9th 2025. We rehearse at Kensington Baptist Church, Brecon  7.30-9.30 on alternate Tuesdays in term time.
