About Us

Welcome to The Beacons Orchestra, an amateur orchestra based in Brecon for players of all ages. We have held a couple of informal 'play days' (actually an afternoon and an evening!) playing through works such as Schubert's 'Unfinished Symphony', Brahms' 'Academic Festival' overture, 'Finlandia', a couple of Dvorak's Slavonic Dances and the Waltz from Shostakovich's 2nd Jazz Suite.

On Tuesday 9th September 7.30-9.30pm, we will be starting fortnightly rehearsals at Kensington Church Hall in Brecon, working on a programme for an informal concert in Talybont on Usk 16th December. Works we will be playing include Grieg's Norwegian Dances and Tchaikovsky Sleeping Beauty Suite.
